Why do I get the feeling that this one is going to be another bag egg! Personally I don’t trust guinea pig muesli. When I first got guinea pigs we didn’t have pellets, we had muesli for them and it was so annoying because the guinea pigs would pick out all their favorite bits and ignore the rest! This meant that a whole lot of the mix was thrown out into the bin, such a waste!
In fact, this is actually called “selective feeding” and is the reason why pellets are favored against guinea pig muesli because they contain all the essentials that cavies need.
So lets have a look at the Crispy muesli guinea pigs to see what it is!
- Guinea pig pellet
- Corn flakes
- Extruded alfalfa rings
- Rodent color mix
- Pea flakes
- Extruded carrots
- Alfalfa pellet
- Guinea pig high vit C pellet
- Vam pellet rodents
- Wheat flakes
- Alfalfa stems
First of all what on earth is rodent color mix!!! There are a lot of questions to be raised here: what are actually in the guinea pig pellets? Why all the alfalfa? Is barley okay? What are extruded alfalfa rings? I am very confused here! Okay, lets find out shall we…
Hmmm, it appears that there is nothing to be found out about these ingredients. I would stay away from this mix as it is highly questionable and also contains a lot of alfalfa and also corn which needs to be avoided.
I rate this 0 stars!
